For Example: What is this guy really doing?

I always wanted to visit Madrid and see the bullfight, and in 2002,  I went there with my sister, Rosalie.  In this picture the matador is awaiting the opening of the gate from which the bull will emerge.

He is betting his life that he will remain motionless, except for the critical moment when he moves his cape, attracting the attention of a very animated bull, supercharged with energy.

If all goes well, the bull follows the cape and the matador has demonstrated skill, bravery and calculation.

Born in Taft, schooled in Taft, imbued with Taft culture, Linda and I still  live not too far from Taft.  :-) 

Oil, cotton, carrots, grapes, canals, alfalfa, dairy, dirt, sand, dust, sagebrush, smog, dirty air, a goodly supply of illegal immigrants and a few prisons nearby characterize the Taft-Bakersfield environment. 

Maybe that is another reason we travel a lot.  :-)

See How It Happened.

One treat that I can offer visitors is the chance to listen to a CD that I produced, "Life's True".   I wrote the lyrics, some of which are country; some are pop; some are blues; some are folk. NONE ARE RAP.  just Google "Dick Snyder"  

I also produced a Christmas CD which featured a "critter", Malcomb the Christmas Moose.  It was a great production thanks to Joyciegirl.com who produced the video.
