HELLGATE CANYON
IN RAPIDS: PHOTO BY SOME OTHER PERSON.
OFF TO KLAMATH RIVER TO VISIT WITH SUSIE ZIEL, A CHILDHOOD FRIEND OF LINDA'S.  THEY WENT THROUGH GRADE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER AND MARRIED THEIR HUSBANDS RIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL.  WELL, ACTUALLY, SUSIE MARRIED HER HUSBAND, RON, THE SUMMER BEFORE HER SENIOR YEAR.
THAT IS ALL FOLKS, HOPE THAT YOU ENJOYED THE TRIP...! ! !

The Rogue River varies in depth at this time of year from 10 inches to 100 feet.  Only a twin jet-powered, rudderless boat can make the entire trip, relying on the directional flow of its 1100 horsepower to propel safely the group of about 50 people on board.  The boat reaches speeds of 40 mph and it felt like it.  Along this same river, with its 200 foot cliffs, various movies have been filmed including the following:  "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (leaping off of the cliffs);  John Wayne in "Rooster Cogburn" (catapulting off of the ledge into the Rogue river) and "River Wild" with Kevin Bacon and Meryl Streep.  Clark Gable also made a film in Hellgate Canyon.  Can you tell me the name of Gable's  movie?
